If there’s one thing you should know about the Vietnamese, it’s that they hold their culture and food really close to their hearts. So when tasked with designing the art of a restaurant that is completely based on the theme of Vietnam right from its food to its walls, we sure had to try our best to do justice to this culture-rich community. It just had to feel authentic..

Our designers hence seeked inspiration from the most authentic source- the traditional Vietnamese architecture. The resulting artwork for the main wall is a tapestry of bustling streets, boat markets, vintage stamps, local dishes, and characters styled with patterns inspired by native textiles. These elements don’t just stop at the main wall, they are scattered across the space in an abstract but intentional manner.

SPACE

For this restaurant, it was not just about painting the walls, it was about making sure that the space reflected the culture in all ways possible. For the same, we created our mural across 4 walls, each unique in their own way but told the same story together.

VISION

Our goal was clear, we wanted to honor this culture-rich country in the way we know best- through our art. For that we wanted our inspiration to come from the most authentic sources and what better than their architecture and everyday life! We used all of it to paint a visual story that transports you to Vietnam right as you step in.

DESIGN

Our mural design for this space is a tapestry of bustling streets, boat markets, vintage stamps, local dishes, and characters styled with patterns inspired by native textiles. These elements are scattered all over the place along with other artifacts that make the art an experience for the viewers.

Our design isn’t the only thing that is inspired by the Vietnamese region. Our color palette too stays rooted to the theme with its muted greens, soft beiges, earthy reds, and golds to adorn the space. Adding more to this space are the handcrafted pots, inspired by the timeless ceramic traditions.

And just when you think we are done, you will be able to spot the Za Works touch as you step into the restrooms. At first glance, it will look abstract, but look closer to spot an entire valley etched in the details!

This isn’t just a themed restaurant- it’s an entire experience built on cultural respect.
