When Amrita approached us wanting to replicate one of our past projects, we thought we’d recreate it but with an improvisation.
Our artwork here follows the journey of the discovery of Farro- an ancient form of wheat. The hero element that is the Lion is an allegory of the discoverer who embarks on this quest.
Through our design, we document as he journeys across barren lands to fertile pastures.
SPACE
This 2000 sq. ft. space in Pune is a perfect example of Za Works visual storytelling as it tells you the journey of the discovery of the Farro wheat and all elements involved. Our art travels across the space starting at the main wall and travelling through the oven and bar walls as it completes its journey.
VISION
When the interior designer of Farro approached us with the reference of one of our other projects in mind, we had to make sure we give her something even better. We took her idea, her concept and made it into art by illustrating it through a surreal narrative.
DESIGN
With surrealism being the main theme for the art at Farro, we show the journey of our main character, the lion as he travels across barren lands and fertile pastures, guided by celestial elements and spiritual figures on his quest to discover the Farro wheat. It is an example of Za Works’ signature storytelling and Amrita’s vision, making this a story waiting to be uncovered.
With surrealism being the main inspiration, celestial elements denote the sun and moon along with other whimsical details that symbolize the explorers’ journey right to his discovery.
An additional dimension to this art is the oven tree wall art with its spiritual aesthetic where intertwined wheat leaves represent Farro in a divine, almost sacred manner.
As we explored different design styles for this project to find the perfect balance between Za Works’ signature style and Amrita’s vision, we think the resulting art is something that compels you to look closely and uncover its story!
