Art has the ability to transform spaces, and with Zaworks’ latest project, we did exactly that. For this creation, France was our muse. The brief was unique- we were tasked with the challenge to create an artwork that transformed our clients workspace in a way that took them straight to their dream destination visually. We took inspiration from the stunning French Architecture and its rich artistic culture to bring this imagination to life.
The main idea behind this creation comes from the distinctive French aesthetics. Iconic Parisian landmarks, motifs and signature European architecture helped us come up with the concept of the ceiling design. These elaborate details painted in a perspective style helps create an illusion of depth- making it feel as though you’re looking up at a French market scene.
SPACE
We were tasked with the challenge to transform the ceiling of our client’s workspace into a replica of their favourite destination and bring out the distinct style and allure of French architecture to their home.
VISION
To achieve this brief, we designed an artwork that incorporated elements that are symbolic to French aesthetics and renaissance art. Planning a muted palette for it helped it to not be too overwhelming for the workspace.
DESIGN
The Mural features iconic French architecture style and motifs in a gray-scale palette to compliment the space and also the interiors of the rest of the house. To add a pop of color to the otherwise muted tones, a celestial mythological figure was added, serving as a focal point.
To ensure a harmony with the interiors of the entire house, we stuck to muted grey tones and a minimalist color palette. This helps to blend the artworks seamlessly into the workspace without it being too overpowering. The serene vibe also makes for an excellent environment to work in.
To break the monotone, the ceiling features a celestial figure right in the middle inspired by angelic figures found in French mythology and Renaissance art. This figurine painted using bright colors also adds a lot of character and serves as a ray of sunshine for the painting. Hence, the ceiling serves as a portal to our clients dream destination, they just have to look up!
